On the 17 May 2010, the "SAVE" rally train proceeded to the Liberian House of Representatives where the "SAVE" coordinators and supporters presented a letter to the government. The letter calls on the government to take a swift action towards eradicating maternal deaths in Liberia. The Senators and Parliamentarians present including the Honourable Speaker, Hon. John A. Ballout, promised to take immediate action by sending the letter to the Health Committee in both houses of Senate and to make sure that the recommendations in the letter are acted upon. According to a report by Major T. Samukai Jr, on behalf of the government, Hon. Ballout assured the "SAVE" Team that, the issue of maternal health will be giving a priority during the 2010/2011 national budget debate --this includes, prioritizing the training of nurses and increasing funding for good health facilities.
